Our dog, "Bella," has been trained by J&K Canine Academy, Inc. This program has become world-renown in a short period of time. Academy owner, "Pepe" Peruyero developed his proprietary bedbug scent detection training methods in conjunction with research by and cooperation of the University of Florida. Bella is a beagle, a scent-hound breed. Beagles have been employed by military, police and USDA to search for contraband and illegal substances.
Locating the scent of bedbugs and their viable eggs in a hotel, motel, apartment, nursing home, daycare, or college dorm using a specially-trained dog has been proven to be approximately 98% accurate. In fact, field-studies have proven that a certified bed bug dog can find the odor of even a single live bedbug in a room.

Scent-detection dogs can differentiate between living bedbugs, dead bedbugs, and bedbug skin shedding. This is wonderful since it's very difficult to visually locate not only bedbugs but also their eggs and nymphs.
Bedbugs hide in bed frames, mattresses, box springs, crevices, electrical outlets, picture frames, drawers, curtain pleats, TV’s, Stereos, etc. Certified Bedbug Dogs of New England, Inc. offers timely, thorough inspections for the detection of bedbugs. You can then contract with an extermination specialist for only those spaces in which the bedbugs (or their offspring) have been found.
